From clinical research to integrative health

I left research when it stopped aligning with my values. Now I bring scientific training, lived experience and clinical practice to women navigating cycles, hormones, and pain that conventional care often dismisses.

Hi, I'm Julie

I began my career in science researching cancer treatments in laboratories, understanding the body through biology, data, and evidence. But my own body told a different story: years of migraines, anemia, period pain, and constipation that no lab result ever fully explained. That gap between what the evidence showed and what I actually felt sent me looking elsewhere into yoga, Chinese medicine, and the kind of healing that starts with listening to the body, not just measuring it.

My journey

My background is in science. I completed an MSc in Physiology, Molecular & Cellular Biology, followed by a PhD in Human Biology & Oncology, spending years researching cancer treatments in laboratories and clinical trials. It was exactly the health career I thought I wanted understanding the body through data and evidence. But over time, I realized something was missing, and that the field no longer aligned with my own ethics and values. So I moved beyond the microscope.

At the same time, I was living with my own unresolved health migraines, anemia, period pain, chronic constipation, neck pain. Nothing dramatic enough to be called an emergency, but enough to shape my daily life. Looking for real answers, I left my life in London and trained as a yoga teacher, and over more than twelve years gradually expanded into nutrition, acupuncture, the Five Elements, Chinese medicine, and massage therapy later weaving in somatic work, healing touch, qigong, and the wisdom of Chinese energetic medicine. Piece by piece, my own health began to change.

Along the way, working with a therapist, I also came to understand that I’d been carrying the effects of a difficult childhood in my body for far longer than I’d realized. That discovery changed how I practice I no longer see a symptom as something separate from the rest of a person’s story.

Today, I hold both: the understanding of science and the depth of Chinese medicine. My work is to help women understand what their bodies are asking for, and to move through every season from their first cycle to perimenopause feeling informed, supported, and at home within themselves.
